Tanganyika is also the name of the deepest freshwater lake, Lake Tanganyika which is also located in Tanzania. Tanzania is often referred to as the land of Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar. Serengeti National Park

Serengeti is the largest national park in Tanzania and its world widely famously known for the annual Great wildlife migration referred as the biggest wildlife spectacle in the world. In this natural phenomenon more than a million wildebeests accompanied by hundreds of Zebras and gazelles brave the crocodile infested rivers and cross over to Masai Mara in Kenya to search for greener pastures. Serengeti National Park is most arguably the most famous in East Africa region. No Tanzanian safari is complete without a visit to the Serengeti plains, or so they say.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Ngorongoro Crater)

Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact unbroken caldera which is recognized by the UNESCO as a world heritage site. Often known as the Eden of Africa or the eighth wonder of the world it is home to thousands of animals in one confinement and the only place you can see the Big five in one game drive alone with a little bit of luck. On the Ngorongoro Highlands walking safaris are allowed but accompanied by an armed ranger or a Masai warrior.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park is a small national park in the Northern Tanzania safari circuit and it’s the land of the legendary tree climbing lions. The national park comprises the Lake Manyara which is one of the lakes in the Great Rift Valley that runs across Africa. The lake is a natural habitat and a host for thousands of birds making the park a birds watchers haven and a must visit for Bird watching safaris. Among the birds present includes the flamingos, pelicans, geese and many more bird species

Mount Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the largest free standing volcano in the world. Popularly known as the ‘Rooftop of Africa’ is amazingly accessible and even the less seasoned trekkers can conquer the summit with very little effort. The Mountain is accessible to uhuru peak via several routes namely Lemosho, Umbwe, Rongai Route Kilimanjaro and the most popular routes of Marangu Route and Machame Route Kilimanjaro. Mountain climbing in Tanzania is very easily blended with safaris and beach holidays in Zanzibar to make an unforgettable holiday to Africa. Mount Kilimanjaro climbing can also blended with scenic trekking in the less traveled Usambara Mountains.

Zanzibar Archipelago (Islands)

Zanzibar is a general name for the Archipelago that is part of the greater Tanzania. In it self; Zanzibar is made is of Unguja Island which itself is referred as Zanzibar by many, Pemba island, Mafia island and about 50 other smaller islands and islets. The island is famous for its unspoilt pristine palm fringed beaches and great snorkeling and diving spots. Zanzibar is an excellent destination for honeymoon safaris. A holiday to Zanzibar is always not complete without a spice tour and a tour of the Stone town which is also a world heritage site by the UNESCO.
